Personal Mail MCP

A private, self-hosted tool for reading and drafting my own email.

Personal Mail MCP is a small open-source program that runs locally on its operator's own computer. It implements the Model Context Protocol so that an AI assistant running on that same computer can search and read the operator's own Gmail messages and prepare draft replies for the operator to review.

What it does

• Searches the operator's own mailboxes using Gmail search syntax
• Reads message and conversation contents
• Lists labels and downloads attachments to the local machine
• Creates drafts in Gmail for the operator to review and send manually

What it does not do

• It cannot send email. No send capability is implemented.
• It cannot delete, trash, or archive messages.
• It does not operate on anyone's mailbox but the operator's own.
• It has no server component, no hosted service, and no user accounts.

Who it is for

This application is not a commercial product and is not offered to the public. It is a personal utility used by a single individual on their own Google Account. There is no sign-up, and no third party can use it without installing and running the software themselves on their own machine with their own Google Cloud credentials.

Where the code lives

The software runs entirely on the operator's local machine. All source code is readable by whoever runs it. It communicates only with Google's own API endpoints at googleapis.com.
